Preconditions for Electronic Signature
Before users can sign sequences electronically, the following conditions must be met:
Create a CmUser database, if one has not already been created (see Creating a Cmuser Database).
Enable User Mode: Open the Security Activation Tool (CmSecure program) and click Enable User Mode.
After enabling User Mode, complete the following tasks:
Specify the general settings for electronic signature in the CmUser database (see Signature Settings in the CmUser Database).
Create the individual users and assign them a signature password (see Creating Users with Signature Password).
Assign the privileges in the User Manager (CmUser program; see Privileges for Electronic Signature)
Notes:
Electronic Signature is available only for user databases that were created with a User Manager (CmUser program) version 6.10 or higher. Update your database if an error message notifies you that electronic signature will not be possible.
If you want to submit a sequence using an RDF file that is outside the sequence ("external" RDF file), the CopyRDF privilege is needed.
If you want to submit a sequence using an external RDF file, but the sequence already contains an RDF file with the same name, the DeleteRDF privilege is needed.
